Longsleddale : 30th May - Although Longsleddale sits between Haweswater and Kentmere it is a secretive valley, hidden a 6 mile drive up the single track road north of Kendal. The valley is quiet and totally unspoilt and marks the boundary between the peat lands of the Pennines and the more rockier steeper sided Lakeland fells. The suggested 9 mile [black] circular route from Sadgill (with 2415ft of ascent) to the the upper reaches of this very impressive valley visits the summits of Shipman Knotts, Kentmere Pike and Harter Fell. The descent follows Gatescarth Pass and the River Sprint.
