Gateshead Civic Walking Club organised fellwalks in the mountains of the Lake District, Howgill Fells, North Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Dales, Cheviot Hills, Pennines and the Highlands of Scotland during the period 1983 until 2026. Sadly the ever-rising costs associated with hiring a minibus for Saturday walking events resulted in the Club being 'disolved' in September 2026.
